Lagniappe Too Cafe is one block from the famous Shadows-on-the-Teche Plantation Home and Gardens and in the heart of New Iberia's Historic District. The owners Al & Elaine Landry combined talents to create a fresh, delicious and healthy menu at a moderate cost. Elaine is principal chef as well as a doll maker and is often assisted by their son Field in preparing gumbos, soups, salads, sandwiches, bisque, desserts and regional cuisine. Try a slice of Elaine's famous Bread Pudding or homemade cake. Al is the table hopper, general all around "Gofer", greeting diners, assuring dishes are to their liking. He also creates the art work decorating the walls. Lisa's Poboy Shop is a local favorite. There is no dining area, just a bench to sit while waiting for your food. The menu is limited - fried seafood poboys, fried seafood platters, assorted sandwiches including hamburgers, roast beef, ham & cheese and sausage and daily plate lunches such as red beans and rice, shrimp stew and fried catfish with white beans and rice.
