Stormin’ of the Sazerac

Sazerac Bar at The Roosevelt New Orleans Hotel - New Orleans, LA

There was a time when women weren’t allowed on a daily basis at the Sazerac Bar. They were only permitted on Mardi Gras Day. That changed in 1949 when the bar relocated and opened its doors to women. Today, the bar marks the anniversary with a Stormin’ of the Sazerac event that features the signature cocktail and a vintage glamour costume contest. Guests are encouraged to dress in late-1940s attire. www.therooseveltneworleans.com
