Annual Okra Festival
New Market Street - St. Martinville, LA
Other parts of the country just don’t appreciate this fuzzy green veggie, but okra is one of our favorite ingredients, whether it’s fried, cooked with stewed tomatoes, or used in gumbo. The Okra Festival is hosted by the African-American Museum and includes an okra cook-off, zydeco music, and entertainment by local dance teams and high schools. Call 337.394.2230 for information.
